Information about Tri Star Bank's request for waiver of requirement to use certified appraisers

Published on 12/4/2017
TAC and the board leadership are aware of the letter that was submitted last week in regards to the TriStar Bank request for Appraisal Waivers in the Nashville MSA for the 2018 Calendar Year.  If ultimately approved by the Appraisal Subcommittee (ASC), TriStar Bank would be allowed to make loans and obtain valuations without using certified appraisers.

We have been working on this since the live commission meeting on Tuesday.  We have reached out to representatives at the State and Federal level, as well as our constituents at the national level with other coalitions, professional organizations and legal representatives.

In consideration of the information we have gathered, we are still working toward the proper comments, and will be drafting letters to be reviewed for the appropriate comment period once this letter is published with the registry.

This is a very important matter and the TAC board and representatives have been working over the past week to ensure we stay on top of this issue and keep you informed in a timely manner.

I certainly appreciate all the feedback we have received thus far, comments and suggestions and we ask that the membership continue to reach out to us with your thoughts and questions.
